A surprisingly raw and violent black & white psychological western incongruously shot in CinemaScope and sumptuous DeLuxe Color by veteran cameraman Ernest Haller in which grizzled old psychopath Lee J.Cobb and his unlovely gang toy with former associate Gary Cooper and the enticing Julie London (in a salmon pink dress that throughout draws the eye whatever the setting).
