I loved the book Wuthering Heights, I am currently reading it again. I believe that this movie accurately portrays the passion and the feeling that this book gives about soulmates and how a love like that can transcend even death, but also if not nurtured correctly can become a destructive force in people's lives. I felt that these actors were true to their parts. I even saw the 1939 version of the book and I thought it was a meager attempt at the plot of the movie, but it was over romantisized and I don't believe it really did the book any justice. The book was not about just romance. It was about the Romantic era idea that society and civility corrupted true passion, true love and true oneness. That all one really needs is that one true person. Material gains just corrupt the mind and soul and make one blind to love. This movie captured Emily Bronte's vision, I don't think she could have envisioned it any better. Good job! I'm going to try and buy the DVD or Video.
