The first half of each episode is fantastic; amazing cinematography and fascinating insights into the animal kingdom. I would generally advise viewers to turn off at about the half way mark though, as the second half is a long, repetitive lecture on how awful human beings are and how they are destroying the planet.
David Attenborough has fronted some truly wonderful shows in his time, but he really has become a bit of a bore recently. Like a drunken relative, he just keeps hammering away at the same point, long after everyone else, having heard it all before, have switched off. I'm not sure what he's trying to achieve, as surely everyone is aware of the majority of these facts. All he's now doing is alienating his audience.
I never thought I'd say this, but I think it might be time for the BBC to put the great man out to pasture and bring some fresh blood into the natural history department.
