The critics were way too rough on this one. I loved Kazaam as a kid and when I recently rewatched it I can see why.
A kids perspective is different from an adult. A kid got a lot of imagination and a good sense of fun. So while this movie is corny and silly from an adults perspective these were exactly the things I loved as a kid.
A giant rapping genie, a fun friendship, family, the struggle of a kid growing up in the city and a ridiculous music business villain. I had a blast watching this movie over and over again. 90s kids know the truth about Kazaam!
