I'm a little wary of video game styled movies. Sometimes it works and you get a great show, but others are just horrific. Gamebox 1.0 was the former. The plot was a little predictable, but then again, so are most video games. The characters are a bit 2D, but that's also very typical of video games. The soundtrack was awesome, techy and game-like, just how it should be. There weren't any slow areas in the movie. I loved how when inside the game, the movements were a little jerky. It really contrasted against the real world, and really captured the video game atmosphere. The ending put a smile on my face - poetic justice, anyone? I recommend this for anyone who has a passion for video games. It's a niche area, and the average person would not appreciate the way a game can be brought to life. I've seen quite a few video game/computer based movies, and this is definitely one of the better titles.
