This is perhaps the wildest comedy I've ever seen. I have simply never seen anything else quite like it from the 40s. The style of humor here has been used by the Zuckers and Mel Brooks more recently. The wild camera trick routines done with the projectionist are some of the highlights, as are the first 15 minutes in Hell (otherwise known as Universal!). The last 20 minutes are also riotously funny as even the Frankenstein monster makes an appearance! Very similar in tone to Never Give a Sucker an Even Break, which was also made in 1941. I don't think that film is quite as good as this however. >
