Helen Bauer and Don Peterson are a successful young couple. She's an illustrator and he's an ad man. It's quite obvious they've consumated their relationship as he practically lives at her place. This makes her very strict father very upset. I love how she was quite liberated and very much her own person--in 1933, no less! She refuses to bend to norms...but of course they do get married. And she soon realizes that as much as she loves Don, she cannot stand their now-boring life. So they make an unconventional plan to live apart and still date others as well as each other. This, of course, does not quite work out as planned.
