Homegrown is not a comedy. That said, the film is a marvelous little drama. Billy Bob Thornton just seems to get better and better. The film features a number of cameo appearances by some remarkable actors, John Lithgow, Jamie Leigh Curtis, Ted Danson, but the real genius is Billy Bob. His timing is impeccable, His delivery and body language perfect. The plot is clever and engaging and the performances excellent. I wish I'd seen this one in the theatre. But I can recommend it most highly as an evenings entertainment at home.
