This sequel to the MTV show "Are You the One?" takes the couples who were matched in AYTO (termed "perfect matches")--supposedly by experts--and has them compete in the usual games while they cohabit in a group house.
Besides the competitions that we've seen before--like dealing with heights or completing disgusting tasks--the couples are supposed to work on their relationships, though some of them are involved with others. At the end of each episode, the members of the "losing" couple are tempted to betray each other (and steal their accumulated cash winnings).
The participants are the usual MTV house guests: self-absorbed, attractive, loud, and lacking self-awareness. The group is peppered with abusive a-holes and those who think arguments are won by yelling the loudest. Typically, they speak with bold words, but display their immaturities and insecurities. Are these the role models for a generation?
In the end, we have a game show that encourages lying and scheming whiles professing to promote compatibility. Hopefully, viewers can discern the disconnect.
