maybe it's just me but things seem pretty off-kilter in this incarnation. I mean as far as plot lines and stuff go this series is at least as good as the others; it just seems to have been made for a much younger audience than the others.
I am mostly referring to acting and costumes here but more than that the twists and turns (and blind passageways of life, diddlee-dee)that I noticed/loved in the other series seem absent here. There is no passion in the lines, no realism to the dilemmas. This show had wonderful writing in both script and plot, but it seems almost totally wasted. Had more emotion been put into there words, they would have had quite an impact. I haven't seen Ninja storm or Mystic force, which some people say are most for younger kids, so until I do I'll stop here. (not to mention the fact that I'm an older kid and this is a young kids show)
What I said before isn't entirely accurate. there is one aspect in which this is for slightly older kids: real life problems. they don't bring it up too much but this show deals with real loss; the losing family and losing friends type of loss. Plus the(original) Manga Defender was an awesome idea and pretty nicely/skillfuly displayed.
This could be considered a very basic introduction to the challenges and motivations in the outside world... but it seems to barely scratch the surface. 5 or 6 out of 10
score 5/10
