My family became hooked on the series simply because it is not aesthetically the Hollywood norm. Excellent characters that you grow to like not because they look good but because each roll, taken together, is believable. Not for kids - a bit too much blood reality - but pretty accurate. As a former CSID inspector, many nuanced crime scenes are mostly within expectations where they take the exceptional case most officers would miss and make it reality. "I don't like much, but I think I (get) you . . . ." Better have a brain to watch this one.
