"A.D. The Bible Continues" was a miniseries that tells the story of the apostles after the resurrection of Jesus until the early days of the Christian Church wherein the apostles started spreading the Good News.
Just like in the previous miniseries that preceded it entitled,"The Bible", it took several liberties in telling the story of the early church.Added to that,the themes of faith,hope, and love were present in each of the twelve episodes. As the producers - Mark Burnett and Roma Downey - always wanted,they wanted to spread the spirit of the Bible but to no avail.
Too bad that it was from from compelling. We don't see what made the apostles become better people that they are willing to die from Christ rather than living in fear during the passion and death of Christ. While I may say that it does not really need to be extremely accurate as written in the Scriptures, it should have at least managed to achieve its objective of spreading the Good News and focused more on the apostles from particularly their character transformation.Unfortunately,there are many characters abound that proved more as a distraction to the viewer.
