After watching the first five chapters, I cannot avoid the feeling that the series creators had mainly the international market in mind.
For Israelis who grew on the stories of that war and did a compulsory army service, characters seem flat and stereotyped and the plot is somewhat unreliable.
Do you really think the scene of Avinoam socializing with a Syrian soldier immediately after a deadly ambush makes sense?
The drill is simple even for a weirdo like the feature represented by Avinoam: you put a bullet through his head.
I think I'll skip the rest of the series and stick to documentaries and filmed evidence of people who really fought that war.
The visual effects are pretty good in Israeli standards though.
