Important subject , badly put together

I was really excited to watch this and I believe it's important for people to understand that before Stonewall there was a gay rights movement. That someone has decided to create a series exploring this is the only reason I give this even 2 stars. Intent is one thing, execution is another. This is put together so poorly, edited like a music video, and so sloppily narrated that it is headache inducing. There is a reason why ,in professional documentaries, they hire people with great speaking voices to narrate. In the first 10 minutes of episode one there were so many different people narrating , with images flashing on screen for split seconds as the story jumped all over the place, switching from one character to another, then back in time, then forward, then onto another character, with clips of the real people interspersed with actors, then clips that had nothing to do with what was being said, flashes of newspaper headline too quick to read and finally I just gave up. I'm older and maybe they felt the need to appeal to an audience with an attention span of 5 seconds ? Literally it was unwatchable. It didn't feel like a documentary , it felt like the trailer to a documentary. Would it have been too much to concentrate on one person or one subject for a full minute ? Make a decision to use actors or clips of the real people, not just seconds of both and splice it all together. I got nothing at all out of the 10 minutes I watched, except a headache. If you want to better understand the decades leading up to Stonewall, read about it, or seek out something besides this.

score 2/10
