When I first watched Zatch Bell, I was sitting on my couch at around seven years old, waiting for something to show up on Cartoon Network. I don't remember much from back then, but I knew that I had loved watching it. seven years later, as of last week, I came back to Zatch and Kiyo's story.

I must say, it hasn't changed at all. I still love watching the show from the moment Zatch barged into Kiyo's room with a flopping yellowtail, to the moment Faudo was put down for good with Baou.

The anime was a little corny, but I found it extremely addicting. The seriousness, the silliness, and the characters all made it what it is. I felt like the show was a little repetitive, and the ending was rushed. But nonetheless, Zatch and Kiyo still delivered.

But then I moved onto the manga. The manga was completely different in some ways. Faudo was the second to last "bad guy." The Clear Note arc left so many feelings trapped in my mind, that I had no idea how I should handle them. All of the characters have matured so much from the battle for king, and it's just sad to see them complete their training. Zatch, Kiyo, Tio, Megumi, Kanchome, Folgore, Umagon, Sunbeam, Brago, Sherry... They all came a long way, and they all lost the battle one by one. First to go was Kanchome, followed by Tio, Umagon, and then Brago. Zatch was crowned king, and the very last thing he did was attend Kiyo's middle school graduation. The ending was beautiful.

The impact that Gash and his friends made was so powerful that I was shrouded in emotions, and I wasn't myself again until I wrote this review.

Gash will always stay in my heart as the anime/manga that had the largest impact on my life.

I just wished that the author wrote a little more. Maybe something about how everyone was a year after the Battle for King, and then how they spent their future lives.

Konjiki no Gash!!

What I consider a masterpiece.
