Just seemed to get worse and worse

If you see Gomer Pyle U.S.M.C in black and white, you are usually in for a funny half hour.  Once the show was in color, the character Gomer changed from a lovable small town fellow to the prissiest marine I have ever known! Gomer was downright feminine by the time it was all said and done.  In one episode he courts some junior high girl around and winds up going to a party at her friends house!  Come on!  How many grown servicemen would go hang out a party full of junior high kids??  RIDICULOUS!  This is just one of many dumb plots that surfaced once Gomer went to color.  Watch him on The Andy Griffith Show, he is a riot.  

P.S. The Andy Griffith show also went sour once it turned to color.
