The British version of this is a cult masterpiece and very much on it's own with regard to it's strangeness. American adaptations of British shows never seem to capture the essence of what drew people to it in the first place, because they hire catwalk model like actors too cool and lacking in nerdy likeability to make people want to root for them. This first episode however was a good promising start. Hopefully this version will last long enough to take the story further than the 2 seasons the original got.
