The singer is the stereotypical emo-complicated sort.
The show tries to be like the indie film Once (if you haven't seen, go watch it!) but is very rough around the edges, not a cohesive script. Based on watching 3 episodes and I gave up.
From shaky camera work to the look and feel of the show, it looks like a student film. Surprised to find that it was produced by JJ abrahms!
Also, we get it, it's an Apple TV original but cmon the blatant product placement is a bit much.
I do love Bess and Ethans scenes , their equation translates very well on screen and quite fun to watch. Others seem quite disconnected. Would have loved more scenes there.
It's okay.
After watching a top quality show like Defending Jacob with a tight script this feels like a cop-out. Disappointed.
