It's an entertaining cartoon, good way to destress, even for an adult. Not to sci-fi, no excessive violence and just enough action to be entertaining. It's ability to teach philosophy is quite good.
The LGBTQ representation in this is well done as well, it's a badass character that jsut happens to be gay and not defined by it.
All in all, not too dumb for adults, and not too whimsical for teens, and just about the right amount of fun for kids. Basically a well-done kid's show (much like Avatar, Korra, Adventure Time and the like).
