This could have been a better movie. Dakota Johnson was the wrong actress for this. She is not convincing as a music lover / wanna be producer. The first scene in the recording studio was the first hint - no rhythm whatsoever when she was pretending to be into the music. It just felt like she was reciting the lines of someone who actually does love music. It wasn't horrible and not saying she is a bad actor, however another actor would have been a better fit. Also the chemistry between her and her love interest was nonexistent. Ice Cube does his thing as does Tracy Ellis Ross which is why I gave this movie any stars at all. I was hoping for more.
