I've had an iPad for years but can't (obviously) put all my downloaded media on it, so now looking for an Android/Windows based device - but need one that has the following:
Takes SD cards (more storage the better, so 128Gb  SD support would be good)Can play AVI, mp4, MPEG, flash/flv, mkvDecent battery life (enough to watch 2-3 movies preferably)Full HD preferred. Though HD is acceptableBudget is not an issue, but don't want to spend TOO much as this would be a second device.

The criteria are still a little wide to really give an answer. If budget really is unlimited then I'd be easily tempted with a Surface Pro 4 or similar 2 in 1 laptop, I'm typing this on a HP Spectre X2 which is a very similar concept, defenitely overkill as just a pure media machine but it fulfiulls the list of wants.
If you genuinely only want to play media the the Transformers are pretty good, very good battery life but a bit more sluggish at heavier stuff, My mates just bought a Transformer, HA102 I think was the model number, he lives ion a motothome so good battery and USB charging were his main criteria, it's nowhere as powerful as the M3 processor in my HP with it only being an Atom processer but it would be fine as a second machine with good battery life.

If you want Android, the new Galaxy Tab S3 is the best (but also most expensive choice). It's also very light and thin. The previous Tab S2 is a great option too given it’s much cheaper (around £340)

Surface Pro4 is great too but more expensive and heavier, albeit can do more than the Samsung S3. I also wonder how efficiently Windows 10 runs on it… given it’s relatively resource intensive op system.

The new Samsung Galaxy Book (will run Windows) that has just been announced could be a good choice too but nobody has seen one in the flesh yet…

Don’t bother with Pixel C as it doesn’t have expandable storage.
