So you argue that the justice system worked and she is freed. Yup after four years imprisonments. And she isn’t freed because they no longer imprison people for speaking up against an imaginary figure, but (in my opinion to save face) because of a false accusation.
Now if you countered with that Pakistan agree that imprisonments for blasphemy has no place in a modern free society I could agree with you. But I’m afraid, they don’t say that at all. On the contrary they continue this nonsense and reiterate what a serious crime it is.
One may attempt to choose to dress it up and divert attention by highlighting how good it is that she is freed after four years. That doesn’t change the fact about how backwards it is to lock people up for using words against an deity. |
