What's the point or Message? Addiction isn't that bad and drug use can be so simple? No need to use Christiane F. if you wanted to tell a universal story. They should have called it whatever, not Kinder vom Bahnhof Zoo...but if you want to jump on the Berlin hype bandwagon...
