The themes are the usual ones. But the attitude has gotten worse! Larry David plays the character that Allen would usually play himself, but this times the character is more certain, more contempt and with a larger ego.

It is not usual for a Woody Allen movie to upset anyone, but this one really might! The certainty is irritating. "God is gay!"- the usual sarcastic "probably" is absent.

It looks like, as Allen revisits his signature social comedy, the last installment of which was Deconstructing Harry, he has become bolder, franker, and labels whatever thought he passes as wisdom or knowledge.

This time, Allen doesn't allow his main character to struggle with his philosophy. Instead, every thing goes smoothly until the happy end. Unlike the alienated Alvy Singer for example, Boris is like a prophet.. every man he meets gets "saved," and at the end he's surrounded by many people with a big smile on his face.

It is wonderful to see a man whose work and mentality I extremely admire grows to be more in peace with his ideas.

score 10/10
