Thank you for confirming that. One other question I have is whether this cable will work to go from my camcorder's "DV" port to a firewire 800 port on an Apple Thunderbolt to firewire adapter.

There's no reason why that Thunderbolt cable won't work. As I said in an earlier post, you may need some capture software.

Good morning...over the weekend I tried a three way cable. I connected it to my TV's composite video and left/right audio. Unfortunately nothing displayed on the TV. I selected the input on the TV and I'm not sure why it didn't connect. Could it be a faulty "AV" port on the camcorder?

And you connected to the Video 2 input, red/white & Yellow?

I believe so. Attached is a picture of my TV manual. In section "1", I've connected the yellow cable to "video in" (on the right) and audio connections to the two ports on the left ("R-AUDIO-L")

It sounds like you are doing things correctly. I am not aware of any setting on the camcorder. I am surprised you are not getting anything, as it would be unusual for both the audio and the video connection to fail. I think you need to try a different input source to prove it's the camcorder. If that's tricky, maybe take the camcorder around to a friends and try it on their TV?

I notice that when I turn the dial on the camcorder, that it does seem to change try to display something on the TV. But the dial setting that I need it on does not display anything. Here is a link to the camcorder. Could you possibly check the pages where it mentions about connecting to the TV? I think I have been following it and I'm thinking that there's an issue with the RCA jack on the camcorder. if that's the case, my only other option would be to purchase an S-video to HDMI converter? I understand that this would only be for video. Or, would it be better to purchase an S-video to Component converter? Thank you in advance...
