Las Vegas
I'm lucky enough to be going to Las Vegas in a month or two, I want to see a couple of shows does anyone have recommendations? Just walk up the strip, the whole place is a giant freak show.Northern end is seedier and thus more entertaining. Lots of shows to choose from, some ok price wise and some ridiculously expensive. Several Cirque shows. We saw "O" at the Bellagio when we were there - water based one which was amazing
O | Las Vegas show at Bellagio | Cirque du Soleil Got back a month ago. Definately see a Cirque de Soleil show. Be aware though Monday and Tuesday's a lot of them are closed as the performers are having their days off. Vegas is also pretty quiet those days.
O is apparently the best on at the moment, and definately wanted to see it but was closed at the time we were their.
We saw Mystere which is their oldest show but still absolutely amazing. The girlfriend wanted to see Rock of Ages but I talked her round and she has told me many times how happy she was that I did. We also had dinner at Top of the World before the show which made the evening absolutely amazing, stunning views and amazing food (cost about £160 for the meal and drinks, but boy was it worth it). Cringeworthy to the masses, but he's such a nice bloke and makes performing look like a walk in the park. Every song is an anthem that gets the whole crowd up on their feet.
Stayed at the Bellagio but saw him at the Hilton which was okay, but wouldn't stay there. :/ We saw Mystere too, also Penn & Teller for a blast from the past.
Check out the holidays subforum here, there are a few Vegas threads. Can I also recommend you book to go horseback riding in the desert and have a BBQ? There are companies that do it-done in twice at sunset and is quite simply one of the best things I've ever done. You can't go wrong with these, Zumanity is pretty good also, check out the comedy clubs also ... I saw KA at MGM which was great, helicopter tour to Grand Canyon was also well worth the money, try and blag a room upgrade by saying the travel agent promised a free upgrade ( worked for me).Starve yourself one morning and attack an all you can eat buffet. The rides up stratosphere are good fun. Old town is good. Thee is also a really good Kobe beef restaurant in Caesars Palace.. Have fun... You must enter a poker tournament too the atmosphere is great. Plus 1 for the helicopter Grand Canyon tour.
