Not really. Just the world we live in that there is a high terror threat in the developed world

Porto Santo is lovely has one of the finest beaches in the world and is an island in its own right but is 70km from Madeira and involved a flight or ferry.

You can fly direct from the UK to PXO

I think Tenerife is the best location to go on holiday, best climate in the world and cheap food

Oh I hate that. Had that once in Mallorca...First in the morning we couldn't sit where we wanted as that was for 'regular' guests, we were shoved in the back somewhere and had to join another couple on their table...Then in the evening I wasn't allowed in the restaurant despite me wearing Bermuda short and a polo shirt. Nope the dress code was long trousers, and the restaurant was filled with these old persons grey not well fitting suit trousers and a vest top on top (no rules regarding colour)...A vest top looks great when you a muscular and young, not with manboobs a hairy chest and stains on it...But no, the issue was not having long trousers....

Needless to say despite full board we never ate at that hotel, it was rubbish...Never done a package holiday since 1998.

Of the two I'd choose Tenerife any day...

That is one of most expensive hotels in Tenerife and the nicest area but cakes and food much better in Puerto De La Cruz or even in local towns.
