What a competitor.
This guy was a multiple CART champion until his awful accident at the Lausitzring, which almost cost his life,in 2001.
He then got himself back behind the wheel of an adapted car and completed the final 13 laps of the race in 2003 at speeds of nearly 200mph,and went on to race in the WTCC.
Now he's a gold medal winner in the Paralympics.
That's worthy of it's own thread for a man who just doesn't give up.
Alex Zanardi - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia So happy for him, a great guy by all accounts and top sportsman. At for it to happen in Brands Hatch is just fairy tale stuff. //static.avforums.com/styles/avf/smilies/clap.gif

His book,"Alex Zanardi,My Story",is also worth reading. this was the only event I cared enough to watch, purely because zanardi was competing, and channel 4 completely overlooked it.
