I'm a massive Tiger fan but if he wins after this, it won't count (in my eyes) as it will be tainted. He should have been DQ'd.The end.

Tiger and USPGA gone down in my estimation over this sad affair.
Really hope Tiger does not win, would send out the wrong message. After his admission that he dropped the ball 2yds from where he knew he should have, he should have been DQ.

Failing that I think he would have done his rehabilitation a world of good by voluntarily withdrawing from the competition.

I can't believe Woods is still in this tournament.

With all his bad behaviour on the golf course of late I certainly wouldn't of missed him.

I wouldn't like to be a committee member of any local golf club ruling on any future decisions.

He admitted he dropped the ball in a position to gain an advantage. Is that any different from kicking a ball out from behind a tree?

Away all day yesterday playing PGA Centenary @ Gleneagles (Ryder Cup Course) so late to the Tiger party.

2 points to make here are

First thing is I hate this stupid "trial by TV" nonsense. Why? It doesn't happen in any other sport so why should people phone in and complain about things and then it has to be reviewed?

Quote:

So basically the rules officials reviewed the incident whilst he was still on the course at the 18th, and agreed that nothing was done wrong - subsequently in his post round interview he said he "dropped 2 yard further back" - this is the bit that caused the officials to review matters again.

So Woods signed his card in full compliance with the rules officials as they said that he complied with the rules, however after the admission in the press conference, they reviewed matters again. Under rule 33.x - they couldn't disqualify him as at the time of signing his card - he was unaware that he had done anything wrong as were the officials.

It was the right ruling after a wrong initial decision by the rules committee in my eyes.

Anyway -Still hoping for a clinic from Woods but I think he'll need 66 or something to win. Going for a last minute punt on Kuchar @ 12/1 and Cabera who is still 5/1!

And before anyone thinks I'm some massive Woods fan, I'm not - but all the crap about him being thrown out etc was a load of rubbish. He sought no advantage, made a genuine error which the rules officials didn't even have an issue with at the time.
