Ok, it has been almost a week now since I sent the PM to itsmeeddie and I have not heard any reply so I am making the assumption that he won't be coming along
Which means we have all 12 spots filled so only a couple of weeks to get the final practice in before we all descend on Sandburn Hall for (hopefully) a good day of golf - my practice is going to consist of a round at Belton Woods this weekend, hopefully another round between then and York and however many sessions I can get at the range, but not having hit a ball for almost a month now I am not expecting much this weekend

Managed to get to the range last night after work and hit a basket of 50 balls just to see if I could still hit a ball and was pleasantly surprised to hit most of them pretty straight apart from a few fades with the 3W

Played the last Thursday night league last night, its only a 9 hole stableford, but due to popularity we played the last 2 holes in pretty much darkness, in fact we could not see our tee shots on the last (par 3). We had to guess where the balls went depending on how we thought the shot felt. Amusing how wrong we were, I thought I'd pulled it left, but was on the fringe of the green straight, I did find a ball left of the green, it was actually the guy who thought he'd hit it right. I managed a respectable 35 points yesterday playing at Belton Woods (highest score for the day was 38) but also managed to walk away with the nearest to the pin trophy with an 8i to a distance of about 10ft left of the pin on a hole that was 159yds
Despite only being 10ft from the hole, I ended up 3-putting as the green was stupidly quick....you only had to breathe on the ball and it wouldn't stop rolling. Another lad in our group took 4 putts from around 15ft
It was a bit of a mixed round at times due to the swirling wind which made club selection difficult - at one point it was so windy I hit 7i from around 135yds to the centre of the green and still came up short! Normally that distance would be a PW so it gives you an idea of how windy it was
Only downside to the round was a back spasm on the 18th tee and I am suffering today but hopefully the physio can sort that out before next week and I can manage the round without any trouble
