T20 Cricket World Cup
Really impressed with coverage - can't believe I'm watching my third cricket match of the day.Not sure whether they're using a new type of ball, but only Persil can get your whites that white - and the silvery-grey seam stitching really stands out - very odd that the ball details in slo-mo replays have impressed me more than that sport itself. wish I had Sky I feel like I've lost touch with cricket and big events such as this and test matches don't seem as big a deal. Listen to a lot of TMC on the radio but it's not the same. Not just you, cricket has lost cricket - greedy selling of a minority sport has seriously reduced appeal/accessibility. I miss the days of when a touring party came over April/May played some warm up matches have a one day series then 5 test matches with sufficient rest in between each one (not 5 tests in 7 weeks or whatever it is now). Been enjoying this and also really enjoyed the Aussie Big Bash league thats not long finished. Would love them to do something more like the big bash league over here rather than the current setup, its a brilliant watch Brilliant partnership there from Morgan and Hales. Hopefully Bopara can finish this off for a big win. That's one of the greatest T20 innings ever, amazing! Awesome from hales, didn't think we would get anywhere near that and poor fielding looked to have done us before we started. A master class from hales and great support from Morgan too. Massive six to win it too! I'll watch T20 because it's cricket (just about) which is my favourite sport but i just can't get excited about it. It's more throwaway than the countless ODIs played these days and possibly as throwaway as any of the 2,430 games of Major League Baseball played before the post seasonal playoffs...
Anyhow well done England, a win on the board and well done Mr. Hales, a ton in 20 over cricket is no mean feat. What an innings by Hales, without doubt the best by an Englishman in international T20 games. I think it was the joint 5th highest ever, right up there with the Gayle and McCullum classics. I doubt if Aaron Finch's 156 will be beaten any time soon, certainly not in this tournament.
Hales is one of those players who's unplayable one day, the next he'll just throw his wicket away. Anyhow, I'm glad the selectors stood by him. Not a brawny lad but very tall with fast muscles; I bet he's a good golfer.
