It is throwaway as you say, but there's a lot to admire about the skill levels on display at international level.   Hales innings yesterday for example, or Steyn's last over bowling the other day to stop NZ scoring the 7 they needed to win. And how about the boundary catching?

another cracking game, aussies looked like they were in control with a few overs left but then bravo and sammy just started smasing it out of the park, great finish and not looking pretty for the aussies in the table now

Yes absolutely, there's no disputing the skill on show but it's all a bit contrived for my liking due to the very limited overs and the fielding restrictions.

And on the instant gratification, entertainment front it's peerless - case in point; the spicy contest between the Windies and Australia earlier in the day which coincidently was a textbook lesson in what happens when you open your mouth too soon... James Faulkner you plonker, you left yourself wanting and probably handed your teammates a beating they would normally have avoided.

However as fun and entertaining as the game may have been, i hardly think it will go down as stuff of legend, i just don't see many T20 games earning that status. It's fast food cricket. Not without its place but not the best fayre on offer.

I was wondering why the Windies were so animated with their celebrations. Seems that Faulkner had riled them pretty badly with his pre- match comments.

Sammy is probably the best in the world at tail-end hitting. Finished the match off brilliantly there.
