What did Mike Brown say? Missed that.

Ireland need to move up at least 2 gears against this tough Italian squad.

Ireland get the win but very poor performance. Sexton must be under the weather.

Why does Rugby not have players names on shirts?

tonyrees687 Publish time 2-12-2019 20:54:09

Good question. It cant be a cost cutting thing because most World Cup Jerseys have the day and the match teams embroidered on them. The All Blacks have the name of the player, their All Black number as well but its small and on the front. As to why the name is not on the shirts ( I suppose you mean on the back like football shirts) Havnt a clue. Wales used to a while ago. Maybe because shirts get damaged a lot in rugby and you cant carry extra shirts specific to a match with names on.
Would love an answer.

Is it because the numbers are not fixed to the player, unlike football where players have a number assigned and therefore their name goes on that shirt/number?

Not bothered about the petty disciplinary action if indeed they've done wrong.

As for Brown's interview. He answered the questions put to him. Succinct, for sure, but what were people expecting, exactly? A smiley face and jovial attitude? He wasn't rude, just disappointed. Nowt wrong with that. In fact I'd have been annoyed with him if he'd been any different. Christ, he's human.

Hooper's picked up a one-match ban for "clearing out" Brown, Falau and Horne are both injury doubts for the Wallabies.... Wales' path just became a teeny-bit easier......

I've watched quite a few matches so far, although I was relegated to watching Fifi v Uruguay in the bedroom on a smaller screen with just Freeview, no HD ITV4. Holby took preference! What I have noticed is the great turn out for these games, in that respect the tournament, thus far, has been a great success and a credit to the organisers.

I'm looking forward to what should be the last real test in the group stages and that is the Pool A decider between Wales and Australia.

Don't forget Ireland v France for the prize of avoiding the all blacks
