Zoom Lense
I have a Canon EOS 350D and I'm looking at getting a zoom lense. Any advice would be appreciated thanks! An idea of the sort of photography you'd like to be doing with the zoom would help with advising on focal lengths etc.data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7Jim Canon EFS 55-250 would be a cheap way into longer zoom with reasonable results. Can be had for less than £100 of your favourite auction site or second hand sellers (MPD, LCE, Mifsuds etc.).
Example of original version - Used Canon EF-S 55-250mm f/4-5.6 IS lens - mpb.com
Example of II - Used Canon EF-S 55-250mm f/4-5.6 IS II lens - mpb.com
There is almost no difference between the two but obviously the II version will probably be newer. There is an STM version which is slightly better and has a silent AF motor which is good for video if that is your thing but this will be a bit more £.
From there upwards the sky is the limit. /proxy.php?image=http://tambnguyen.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/04/01b151c88da08ddc655c0210.L.jpg&hash=9af280602308f1699e4920297292817f
Get yourself this, can't go wrong Short zoom, telephoto zoom, all in one zoom, zoom for travel, zoom for wildlife? To be able to zoom into buildings like this. You need to speak to Jim (@shotokan101) about voyeuristic lenses like that data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7 data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7
Joking aside, I assume from your questions and photo that you can't just walk closer, so you need a telephoto lens. Something like a 70-300mm should be OK, but it would depend on budget? Have a play with this.
