? The STM version is worth getting, as the focus is much quicker.
I had a Tamron 70-300 and it developed a fault so that it would not communicate with the camera when zoomed right in. The fix was more than the lens was worth, so it has been retired. My sig pic of the lion was taken from about 30M away with the Tamron - through the car window!
My grab and gun lens of choice is the 18-135 ISTM EFS. It does what it says on the tin and is sharp and fast enough from most work. This is always a good site to check if you're getting a good price
