And I'm expecting that to continue with the Rift S unless HTC release the Cosmos for £399.

Time will tell.

Individual HMD market share but Valve never wanted HMD market share in fact they wanted zero HMD market share. Valve wanted many individual companies to make the HMDs which is what happened to WMR which then got the official SteamVR app. So SteamVR is doing what Valve wanted it to be which is a collaboration of HMD manufacturers - which totals more than Oculus’s 44%.

If you consider how many Rifters buy on Steam v Revivers buying on the Oculus Store it must be a ratio of 100:1 in Steams favour.

well we will probably never know that as the Steam survey figure isn't complete and Oculus don't share their sales figures. all we do know id Facebook are throwing lots of money at future software development.

Who mentioned Valve?

We were talking about Facebook funding AAA quality games to bring people into their Store. Facebook have done this since the headsets released, and Sony and HTC have done this too.

The industry needs these sort of mainstream gamer titles to come to VR to attract mainstream gamers into buying VR headsets.

We have no indication whether these games are going to be exclusive to the Oculus Store or whether they're going to be timed exclusives and whether Ubisoft will release them on their own UPlay Store or Steam.

If they ARE going to be exclusive to the Oculus Store ONLY you'll be able to play them on other headsets using Revive.

Oculus and Facebook making these investments is great for the industry, it's a shame that Valve aren't doing the same thing considering how much money GabeN has in his swimming pool tbh.

I don't disagree with that.

What I'm not convinced about is your need to call them 'official figures'.

I personally find this to be unnecessary at best, and deliberately misleading at worst.

I've never seen anybody else - including Steam - refer to them as the 'officlal Steam survey results'.

So what you MEANT to say was

"The figures I see are from the official Steam Hardware Survey".

Right?
