Hi. This is a good post actually. I had considered ‘other factors’ impacting performance (such as other people accessing plex while I watch it something via Kodi in the cinema room). I had a look at the resource monitor on the QNAP but nothing looked like it was being a problem. I am convinced my media player is simply running out of grunt when the bit rate goes above a certain level, albeit a lot of people with the same player are suggesting they have never had this issue... all very frustrating, bit as I said a different player seems to be solving it so that’s good enough for now.
