My carpets and skirting are all nailed down and cant be moved. I am too lazy to do trunking and any work myself!

Maybe consider getting a HA/AV CI to do it for you? Plenty out there, would be cheaper than all of the junk you keep buying ?

You are aware flat ethernet cable can be pushed down between carpet and skirting?

Unfortunately it’s complicated to hide the Ethernet cable between the carpet and skirting board.
I have bought the devolo gigagate for cheap on eBay and for now it seems to be working. Back in 2017 they cost about £200!
Powerlines were giving about 100mbps and the Devolo give about 217mbps but still won’t play jellyfish smoothly.

Just a quick update. The gigagate are very fast but I wanted to know how fast. So I transferred a 4586MB file and it completed it in 56 seconds which is roughly 82MB/s!
The Powerline gave a speed of 17MB/s for the same file.
The gigagate are well worth it and the speeds are so close to 1Gb/s Ethernet speed.
But I still can’t understand why the jellyfish files don’t play smoothly.

Is your media player capable?

Yes. It’s a zidoo Z9S. Plays perfectly on the long Ethernet cable. May need to test again by plugging the Ethernet back in.

How many times are you going to watch Jellyfish?
If it plays your 4K remuxes then that's all you need.

Only watched jellyfish on the day the gigagate came!
The gigagate aren’t perfect. It has only 1 gigabit Ethernet port and it only transmits 2.4ghz WiFi! It reserves the 5ghz ac WiFi for connecting with each other only and therefore can’t be used.
I have a theory that if I got two exact good routers (with maybe 4x4 mimo like the gigagate) and then bridge them together, I might get a better performance than the gigagate.

Wouldn't it be less effort to do the trunking?
It took me all of a couple of hours to do my speakers and ethernet and I don't need the hassle of wifi.
The trunking is easy, all you need is a small saw and a measure. It even comes in different profiles to be only as slim or thick as you need, comes with corner joins and other parts to make it simple and has tape attached so it sticks itself.
