Go into device manager, look for usb, right click on those to see driver version and make a note of what version is there now.
Then install the chipset drivers , go back into device manager and see if they have changed. Nope didn't make a difference. Its got to be a faulty USB port, you would think if it was faulty then it wouldn't pick up USB3 flash drives. Is it working fully with USB3 flash drives, are you getting full USB3 transfer speeds?
USB 2 works in a USB3 slot using pins 2 and 3 for data, those pins are not used for USB 3 so could be that just pin 2 or 3 is faulty. Yep seems to be the same transfer speed as the other USB3 Ports. I have 6 USB3 ports on the back five of them are working, So i think i will just live with it rather than sending the system back, Also i have two more USB3 ports on the top of the PC case.
