Problems with USB Ports

I am having a problem with the USB ports on my Asus K73E.On the L/H side there is a single USB port and I have two mice one works in there the other does not my memory stick and my USB hub also work and tried a new battery in the mouse still the same.
On the R/H side there are three USBand nothing seems to work when plugged into one of the ports but everything seems to work in the other two ports.I could probably understand if everything worked on the L/H side and nothing worked in the one port on the R/H side.Any advice appreciated.

I have just checked this problem again and the following is what happens..The one USB port on the L/H side The USB hub works, the memory stick works and one mouse works when I go into properties for the mouse that does not work it says This device cannot start (code 10).There are three USB ports on the R/H side everything works in two of them but nothing works in the third one.The mouse which would not work on the L/H side port works and the message in properties says This device is working properly.Very confused especially about the mouse why work in one port but not the other.

For the non-working R/H port the electronic circuit protection could have failed.

What happens if you attatch the mouse to the hub and the hub to the L/H port?

Sorry I have been so long in coming back to this post have just tried what you suggested and plugged the dongle into the USB hub and the mouse works.

Is the USB hub externally powered - if so there is just insufficient power on that port. You could try a different dongle but it's a roll of the dice as to whether anything else would work.

I presume this is a laptop? Try powering down and removing the battery for a few minutes before reinserting and powering up again. Could be a controller corruption glitch which should be reset by removing all power.

I have two mice and have tried both dongles in the hub and plugged directly into the USB port
