Hikvision NVR/camera Setup

I apologise if this has been asked before but just want to know from someone that is knowledgable on the subject.

I have just installed aHikvisionDS-7600NI-K2/P NVR with 4 x 6mp PoE cameras connected. Everything seems to have gone fine as per instructions and i can view all 4 cameras and their recordings, what im unsure about is the discs that come with the NVR and the cameras.

On the camera small disc there is Application software(iVMS-4200 and SADP) - Development tools(Client SDK) - Documentation - (Manuals)

On the large disk is is similar      Client software - SDK - Player - User manual

What I would like to know is do I need to download iVMS-4200, SADP and SDK and what do they do ?

Also how do I turn off IR/night mode on the NVR

Any help would be appreciated

I didn't use any of them when setting up. I just use IE11 to access the NVR and each camera. IE11 is needed as the plugin to view the camera doesn't work on modern browsers.

I got a lot of help from HikVision

IVMS you can download from the Hik website, same SADP. IVMS is a full PC based client for Hik NVRs and cameras. You need to turn IR mode off on the cameras.

Would you mind sharing where you bought the cameras and NVR from please?

Thanks

I don't have a Hikvision NVR and I've found out that iVMS is the only way I could update the firmware on the devices. I've never been able to do it on the device itself. You can also no longer get live view on my older cameras as you can no longer load in the plugin for the browsers to make it work. So the only way to do on camera motion detection and the like is to do it in iVMS.

Hikvision don't allow sales to the public, trade only. It doesn't stop you ringing around to get some prices though data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7 IP Cameras and IP CCTV webshop seem to allow sales though, but are quite expensive

You can update cameras though the browser, you just need to enable the virtual host feature so you can access the cam directly by IP Address, you also get access to more features sometimes hidden by the NVR web UI

However, plugging a camera directly into a port on the...                                                                                                                                                                                                        www.use-ip.co.uk

What has this to do with my cameras? As I said, I don't have a Hikvision NVR so what has setting Virtuial Host in the NVR have to do with anything? I can access the cameras via the web perfectly fine. The problem is the browser plugin Hikvision provide no longer works. Additionally the update firmware capability built into the browser also doesn't work (I'm assuming it uses the same plugin as the live view). So if I want to set anything that needs live view up on the camera or if I want to do a firmware upgrade I can only do so using iVMS. This is nothing to do with the NVR.

The OP has a Hikvision DS-7600NI-K2/P NVR, same setup as me, it was for their benefit. The browser plugin for live view works if you use IE11, so fine for setting up line-crossing etc. Updating the firmware in the browser works fine for me, I did it last week.
