Hi Michael
I bought them via a local facebook selling page from a local business that was having them installed and changed their mind to a larger setup with motorised cameras.

Dont seem able to access box through browser, might be because I'm going through a powerline adapter. Does anyone k ow which ip address you use to do this, the router or the powerline adapters ?

The IP of the NVR,. You should be able to find it on your router UI.

I've tried that one to no avail, I've run the SADPtool and it finds the NVR but clicking on the ip addy does nothing

To confirm you can upgrade the cameras through the browser, you just need to use IE. I did it to three cameras last night. However i'm not using a Hikvision NVR, I use a Synology NAS.

That's weird, how did you setup the NVR and cameras in the first place, via the NVR built-in UI? If so, check if there is an option on there to enable the web interface, maybe it's disabled (if there is an option).
The powerline might be an issue, can you try on wireless, maybe on your phone if you can't do it on laptop/PC?

This is one of the reasons Hik do not sell to the general public. Many of these topics are covered in Engineer / Installer training. I am not saying tech smart people can’t self learn, they can, but there are lot of functions that need more in-depth knowledge and discussion. I have used installer support myself but they tend to be for some unusual behaviours or quirks.

Sorted the problem thanks, it was to do with settings on my new powerline adapter, I had to contact tech support and they talked me through it.

Have you got IP cameras running to the NVR via powerlines, or just the NVR itself?
