Can you link these smart switches to motion sensors as well or not?

Jamie Publish time 1-12-2019 21:17:03

As long as the brand you use is supported by a smart hub of some sorts you can always do it that way.

Examples include Apple Homekit, SmartThings etc.
You can even use a raspberry Pi for something like homeassistant and tie it together that way.

Some ecosystems even have their own sensors that work directly.

Shelly Dimmer delayed, probably until the new year....

"We have faced several challenges during the manufacturing process, that has caused a complete change in some of the components.
By the end of December, we will be able to deliver to you an exceptional device"

I wonder if they will bother re CE Marking them? Major component change would require that....

It's a bit worrying that they're only finding this out on the week that they're due to be released. I'd expect something that i'm going to be wiring to my mains to be stringently tested, not rushed into release. I'm starting to think about the Fibaro Dimmer now, I think i'd rather pay more for something that is tried and tested.

My Scolmore 3 position retractive switch arrived yesterday, looks like a normal light switch, which is what I wanted!

It’s only the SL version (non/neutral). The neutral version is still on schedule.

dave77 Publish time 1-12-2019 21:17:08

Well it will give me extra time to replace my 25mm back boxes!

Am I right in saying that the Shelly accepts lower wattage loads without a bypass module, 10W rather than Fibaro's 50W

Puntoboy Publish time 1-12-2019 21:17:09

I believe so.
