The NVR I bought is £226 on Use-IP. I bought my last camera from them. Hikvision DS-7608NI-K2-8P | 8 Channel Network Video Recorder

I've got the same model, good price but use-ip seem to be expensive for cameras, I got mine at about 30% off their prices. I've just got one of these higher res models to replace my front cam, cost me £145 Hikvision DS-2CD2385G1-I\/B 8MP IR Fixed Turret Network Camera

One thing to bear in mind when choosing between NVR and server, Hikvision NVR's are very loud, they need to be located somewhere where the noise won't bother you.

They price matched the camera for me (the white version of the one you linked to). It was about £176.

I am planning on replacing the fans in the NVR to quieten it down a little. New build house - with Home Hub Installation updated with pics

Just had a look back at my emails 1 x DS-7608NI-K2-8P and 3 x DS-2CD2355FWD-I/G (Hikvision DS-2CD2355FWD-I\/G | 2.8mm 5MP Grey Turret Network Camera) cost me £550 in 2017

I have DS-7600 NVR with 2tb Skyhawk drive, sits in a cabinet under my Oled & not noticed it.
Best advice I got from mushii was getting the dark fighters detail is unreal, 6mp model.
Looking at some of the prices quoted I think I got a very good deal fully fitted.

I am seeing the 8mp Hikvision I mentioned earlier coming up as £207 on use-ip. But I have now found it elsewhere in uk in 3 different places for roughly £140. As such, I won't be getting the cameras from use-ip.

Hi Folks,

I have spent more time researching this and getting quotes to ensure authorised sellers and installers put them in (as per the advice from @mushii ).

Where am I at now?

4x Hikvision DS-2CD2385G1-I IP camera 8MPHikvision DS-7604NI-K1-4P(B)Labour of installing the system
Total cost quoted (3 in total, all within £50 of each other) - £1,193.96

This does not include the cost of a 6TB WD Purple which I need to buy - Around £160.

So total to have it professionally installed is : £1350

Does this sound right?

Now - my main questions!

1) For the money I am now going to spend (that includes 4 cameras, NVR, 6TB storage) - is this the best I can get for the money or are there others (not Hikvision etc) that I am overlooking?

2) If I do go with Hikivision NVR, is there any differences between the Hikvision DS-7608NI-K2-8Pand Hikvision DS-7604NI-K1-4P(B)? Or is it just the extra 4 channels? I am just trying to see if there are other key hardware/software differences that would be worth spending the extra?

Thanks for all your help guys/gals. I am hoping to finalise this over the next week. Like everything, just keen I am doing the best I can with the money I have.

That sound okay, I was quoted closer to £2K for the same. At what height are they fitting the cams, hopefully not high up under the gutters, mine are just above ground window height.

Do you need 6TB? I think I use 2 or 3 in mine and that sufficient.
