And that is the problem I have with many of the established security firms. We had the same. I ended up using their installer skills at the time and me integrating it.
But times have moved on. Systems like Netatmo presence don’t even look like a camera, looks just like a normal led flood light but done stylish. And it’s easy to put in place.
The other system that could be interesting is ring alarm. They also have flood light like cameras, but also have simple stickup cameras that can be battery powered, and even solar powered. All integrated nicely via a mobile phone app.

I have been using Blink CCTV since it came out and its pretty good for what is is and the cost.
