Do Huawei phones lag (over time)?

More specifically, the Mate 20 Lite.

Because it's so affordable while having so many advantages. There must be some downsides, too, huh?

It runs Android, and is made by a company that security services from various countries in the world have a real concern about.

Nothing wrong with Android. And this is the mobile phone section, for Android phones after all.

You must have misunderstood my comment. Look at the question again. Android is not efficient with memory. It never has been. You need a lot of memory. So whilst it may be ok, just with 4GB of ram and very large size images, give it an update or two and it will run out of steam and become laggy. Which is totally aligned with what the OP was asking.

Your opinion may differ, but let’s not pretend that this does not happen, nor that there isn’t anything wrong with Android.

Not noticed this on any Android phones I've owned over the years and not so with the Note 3 I've had since new and have passed onto my OH.

Your comments are imo very unwelcome and not adding anything credible or helpful to the OP.

Ok only good messages than, let’s not be critical.

Jeez, bit rich considering that you haven’t added anything but to argue with my opinion and experience.

My experiences are very different with my Samsung Galaxies, HTC, Google Nexus and my most recent Nokia. Not to mention the public scandals surrounding Huawei.

Hopefully a Huawei owner will be along to answer your question, because i think it really does rely on the makers supporting the software on their phones,i have a Nokia 7.1 running andriod 9 and it's rubbish, the worst phone experience i've had.I also have a Xiaomi redmi 4x a cheap lower spec phone that's about 2 years old, but it's received updates, it's on the latest miui version and still is a very good phone to use.

Non of the above helps the OP, who needs a Long term Huawei owner to give advice.

Nokia 7.1 is an Android One device. It should receive constant updates. But I agree it is low on memory and causing some lag. That Huawei quoted has only 1 more memory, and over time with updated software the same will happen. It happens with all devices in my opinion, over time ...
