Grace period, best way?
Just got a new phone on contract at £42 a month, but after getting first bill from o2 it's £58! Long story short I missed something in the small print but after talking to o2 direct they said I can cancel the contract free within 14 days. Same deal with the online supplier as long as I send everything back to them which I plan on doing monday recorded delivery.I will be contacting the supplier tomorrow and explaining the bill wasn't as I signed up for and wish to cancel as I am in the 14 day period. Looking up online reviews of said company, they sometimes try to claim phones are received back damaged to get money from you, as it's in grace period and I will video record the fact the phone is still mint and new there's nothing they can do, but should I cancel my contract with o2 before contacting the supplier, or risk doing it all through them? do it through both. keep everyone in the loop Are you sure it’s not just the fact that you’ve received a pro-rata bill? The first bill is almost always for more than the contracted price as it covers more than a single month. You will he charged from the day you got the phone to the billing date that the network allocates and then for a full month from the billing date to the next billing date.
At the extreme end a first bill could be for as much as 7 weeks use.
If you do cancel you need to cancel via the retailer. Yes thats exactly what it was, all sorted thanks
