Depends what you can OC your 4670 too!! , the 7700 boost to 4.2 - so that will be you limit on that chip ,
even if you get the 4670k at a higher clock speed than the 7700's 4.2, i think your still going to be better off with i7 as you will be using DDR4 ram as well , which will be better at/forgaming too,
in the really world you will get more FPS ( not much more ) with the i7 than the i5
and seen as you already have the parts , it'snot really going to cost you ££to change things around.
i remember changing from a 4690k oc'd @4.7 too a 4790k and even at stock the 4790k was better than the i5 4690k OC'd , ( not by much , but it was better ) so naturallyi OC'd the 4790k at about 4.7 too data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7
have a little test , if/when you get chance ,
drop the 980 ti into the I7 pc ,and run some benchmarks , and see what you come with ....

I have the 650W Corsair RMi Series RM650i, 80 PLUS Gold in the gaming rig which would be used with the build for the 2080. I would either sell the 980 Ti or get another decent PSU for the 2nd build (lad could have as his gaming machine).

At a guess , if the RMi 650wis running the 980 ti just fine ,i think it will fine for the 2080/1180 ( butas we/i don't really know the power draw of them yet ) ...it'sjust a waiting game to find out ...

If the ray tracing works as intended and is used to its potential, I think I'd become a fan, does look good.
Altho I probably won't jump on these cards, at least not for another year before I decide to change my gpu.
