Gaming PC any good?

Hi all

Once I’ve sold my gaming laptop I’m looking at ordering this...

AlphaSync Gaming PC Intel Core i9-9900KF 16GB DDR4 2TB HDD 512GB SSD NVIDIA RTX 2080 8GB Windows 10 | Ebuyer.com

Any comments are much appreciated

Thanks

Do you really need that CPU?
It's £480 on its own.

Well it’s a fair bit of money so don’t plan on upgrading for a while. Future proofing is good for me.

If that's the case, I'd go for a 2080Ti.

New Ryzens are pretty strong and are cheaper.

If you want to future proof then go AMD, the 9900k is as far as they can go on that platform. A 3700X has the same number of cores/threads (8/16), the 3900X has 12/24 and the upcoming 3950X has 16/32. Pretty much none of the experts are recommending Intel at the minute as they're in between node processes. 14nm is pretty much end of life and their 10nm process isn't ready yet. Also if you're targeting that tier of graphics then the 2080 has been superseded by the 2080 Super. Same price, better performance albeit only 5-10%.

Maybe start with this base unit and add an X570 motherboard (the Asus Prime for example) and an RTX 2080 Super. Then work away at whatever customisations you'd like and the price should be slightly cheaper than the one you linked.

Bought this myself recently: Z390 I9 9900K Gaming PC 5.0GHz Computer SSD 16GB NV GeForce RTX 2080Ti BLZE 5054765609843 | eBay

Very happy with it, I added win 10 and 2x2tb hdd’s with the order, as said very happy.

Would also need to consider what monitor you are going to be using.

Delvey Publish time 27-11-2019 05:24:52

Not too bad of a price. I reckon this parts would cost £1800ish

Impeccable feedback too, another reason I used them.
