Sorry last question!

Monitor...1080 or 1440? 144Hz/165Hz or 240Hz?

EntryLevel Publish time 27-11-2019 05:24:55

1440p. IMHO using a 2080 to play at 1080p is a complete waste of money.

I would also suggest that for most people the difference between 144hz and higher is not perceptible, and unless you know you are very sensitive to it, 144hz is more than enough.

G-sync might be worth looking out for. HDR doesn't seem to have made much headway into games yet, so you can probably give that a miss.

Cheers! I’ll go for a 1440p with 144Hz then.

I assume 24” is OK for 1440p?

That's ok but unknown motherboard only 2400 ram and basic PSU, you could build a better spec for similar money System Builder add in Windows 10 code from ebay £10

As for monitors i wouldn't go for a 1440p at 24" ideally 27" is better at 1440p, i use this one which is GSync compatible https://www.amazon.co.uk/Dell-S2719DGF-Anti-Glare-LED-backlit-Monitor/dp/B07HRZ57ZZ/ref=sr_1_1?crid=1TFBZYYTSOT3M&keywords=dell s2719dg&qid=1569413092&s=computers&sprefix=dell s27,computers,139&sr=1-1

24" is fine, but I prefer 27/28"

Delvey Publish time 27-11-2019 05:24:55

G sync is redundant now that you can use Nvidia cards with most freesync monitors.

Thanks @Delveygood to know, didn't realise that had changed.
